Miami – March 4, 2025 – On the first day of its 2025 Floral Distribution Conference in Miami, the Wholesale Florist & Floral Supplier Association (WFFSA) announced the winners of its Breeder Excellence Award and Grower Excellence Award, as part of its new Floral Xcellence Awards, sponsored by Flowers of Colombia and Proflora 2025 by Asocolflores.
The winners were announced by Asocolflores Executive President, Augusto Solano, and WFFSA President Karen Oie.
The winner of the Breeder Excellence Award is Danziger for UNICORN.
The winner of the Grower Excellence Award is Florisol & Co. for Chrysanthemum – Super Magnum.
The winner of the Member Favorite Award was announced on day two of the 2025 Floral Distribution Conference, March 4, during the address of WFFSA President, Karen Oie, Director of Sales for North American Floral Operations at Smithers-Oasis.
The winner of the Member Favorite Award is Ayurá SAS for Carnation Apple Tea.
The Floral Xcellence Awards provide WFFSA supplier members with an unparalleled opportunity to showcase their most outstanding floral varieties. Open exclusively to WFFSA members registered for the 2025 Floral Distribution Conference, this prestigious competition celebrates creativity and excellence, shaping the future of floriculture while connecting breeders, growers and wholesale buyers in an engaging and competitive environment.
The judging panel for the Breeder Excellence Award and for the Grower Excellence Award was made up exclusively of wholesalers, giving participants first-hand exposure to their target buying audience, including the following judges: John Burk, DVFlora; Kelly Mickelson, Red Mountain; Alice Givens, Flower General by Carlstedt’s; and Juan Carlos Semidey (representing Flowers of Colombia/Asocolflores).
