2024 WFFSA Events Recap: A Look at the Numbers!

Floral Distribution Conference – March 4 -6, 2024

As always, the keynote event for WFFSA each year is the Floral Distribution Conference (aka FDC). This year was no different for us as we welcomed an incredible 661 attendees, who were all eager to learn, connect, and grow alongside industry peers. While we didn’t quite beat the 2018 mark of 664, it was still well above the 6-year average of 588 (2020 not included) and the highest since pre-COVID. Our goal for the 2025 event is continue to move the needle on that average and close in on 700 attendees.

We are also happy to report that the vendor table tops followed suite with a record-breaking 131 displays! It was exciting to see the engagement from all attendees as the room was filled with the latest products and innovations from industry growers and suppliers. As of now, we are on pace to continue with this number for the 2025 conference.

Another important number to report is that we had 133 “First Timers” attend for the event. It goes without saying that getting new members/attendees to the event is incredibly important for developing your employees. We would love to continue to see this number increase and are actively looking at ways to further engage with this group to help create an enjoyable and welcoming experience that fosters growth.

If you missed out this year, or if you’re already looking forward to next year, you’re in luck! Registration is now open for the 2025 WFFSA Floral Distribution Conference. Secure your spot early to take advantage of all the exciting opportunities this event has to offer.

Development Experience – July 24-26, 2024

San Francisco played host to the 2024 Development Experience (DevEx), a one-of-a-kind event designed to inspire and educate professionals across the floral industry. With over 60 attendees, the turnout fell slightly short of our goal of 75 participants, but the event was nonetheless deemed a success by WFFSA committee members and those who joined us.

The positive feedback from this year’s participants has set the stage for an even bigger and better 2025 DevEx event. We are optimistic that the excitement generated in San Francisco (and location, which will be announced soon) will help us to exceed over 100 attendees. Events like DevEx are critical for fostering industry innovation and collaboration, and they provide a platform for professionals to network, learn, and grow together.

Looking ahead to 2025

As we close out 2024, it’s important that we all look back on these numbers and acknowledge that the upward trends in participation show us that there is general excitement and a continued positive outlook for our industry.  The more we can come together as a whole – from Growers, Suppliers and Wholesalers – the more we accomplish and grow together.
