WF&FSA Website Gets a New Look and Feel

Molly Alton Mullins HeadshotIn today’s technology-filled world, it’s safe to say that having a website is crucial to the long term success of your organization. A website is where your customers go to look for new products and where you house all your important information. It helps you attract new clients and launch new programs. In essence, it’s important to everything that you do. And in WF&FSA’s case, it’s where our members – and potential members alike – go to find out what’s happening in the wholesale floral business.

And in WF&FSA’s case, it’s time for a change.

With the support of WF&FSA’s board of directors, it was approved in the 2017 budget to completely overall the WFFSA website, www.wffsa.org. Not only has the site been around forever, but it’s overflowing with information. It’s like constantly shopping for new clothes without ever donating anything to Goodwill. Imagine what your closet would look like after 10 years? Kinda like wffsa.org.

In addition to having too much information, the current website lacks some of the modern functionalities that are paramount to good website design today--mobile compatibility, updated graphics, video integration, microsites with targeted information. These features make it easier for people to register for events, download reports, and locate important contact information for wholesalers, all through their smartphone.

So it was time to step up and really evaluate wffsa.org and what’s important to our members. Each year wffsa.org receives more than 35,000 web hits and that number is growing. During the past few months, in partnership with our incredible Marketing Committee, WF&FSA evaluated the traffic on each and every webpage to see what our members care about and where they go to find information. We’ve created a new design that we hope provides this information quickly and efficiently, while also highlighting all the beauty that is the flower industry.

While much of the site has been completed, there is still a lot of work to be done. Our goal is to launch this summer and we’ll announce more in WF&FSA’s newsletter in the coming weeks, including a sneak peek of the new design!
